Volbella XC

$650/ syringe

Volbella XC injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral lines or fine lines anywhere on the face, neck, and hands. Volbella gel can create a desirable enhancement in the lip contour, improve volume in depleted sites, smooth smoker’s lines or vertical creases, and correct facial symmetry – all in a single, safe injectable treatment.

The fact that Volbella is a thinner filler makes it ideally suited for areas where the skin is delicate, like the lips and under-eye area. In addition, the hyaluronic acid in Volbella is created with a proprietary technology called vycross linking, where the hyaluronic acid is cross-linked to improve the smoothness of the gel. It also decreases the amount of swelling that occurs with the filler and makes Volbella more resistant to being broken down by the body, so that it lasts longer.

The area to be treated is wiped with an antibacterial wipe and prepped for the needle or cannula. If I use the needle, it will be very small and inserted at a 45-degree angle to inject the filler. If I choose a cannula, the process will still start with a needle prick. A cannula is a blunt-tipped needle and because a cannula is not sharp, an opening must be made with a sharp needle on the skin first and then the cannula is introduced into that opening. You may feel a pressure or pushing sensation as the cannula is introduced into and under the skin.Recovery

Like other Juvéderm products, you might see noticeable differences in your skin almost immediately. According to the Juvéderm website, these results can last up to a year.

You can go back to work right after this procedure. However, in the first week after the procedure, you will have swelling that is worse the day after your injections but continues to improve each day.

Bruising is a real possibility. The reason bruising is possible goes beyond the device used– needle or cannula. There are hundreds of small blood vessels in this area of delicate skin and if one is torn or pierced a bruise will occur.

Another possibility is swelling. While Volbella injections help to diminish puffiness in the long run, swelling can persist for four or five days post-treatment.

The results of this treatment last much longer than other fillers on the market and most patients can expect to enjoy consistent results for up to 12 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

You may experience minor irritation, swelling, or mild itchiness at the injection sites, which should resolve in a couple of days. You should not rub or massage the area after Volbella injections, as you need to allow the filler to settle.

A consultation and examination of your skin; bone structure and facial musculature will help me determine if you are an appropriate candidate. Your expectations and concerns will be discussed so you have a good idea of what to expect as a result of your treatment.

Volbella can be used in the tear trough area, the curved depression running under the eye, to replace lost volume and eliminate the hollow, shadowed look that makes you appear tired and old.

Volbella is also used in the lips, to add fullness to thinning lips, and to fill ‘smoker’s lines’ the little wrinkles radiating outwards from the mouth. It can be used to restore definition or to correct asymmetries.
